Christine Star Christine was born and educated in Germany and moved to the UK in 1988. Following a career as a qualified nurse and as a social worker, she decided to develop her interest in holistic and complementary therapies. During the last 18 years she has studied and become qualified both as practitioner and trainer in a number of areas including Anatomy, Physiology, Massage, Aromatherapy, Reiki (Reiki Master and teacher) and Diploma in Astrology. In 1990 she established a Holistic Therapy Centre in Plymouth combining the various therapies into her treatments.
During this time she was teaching in Adult Education and was approached to offer Diploma Courses in Anatomy, Physiology, Holistic Massage and Aromatherapy. In 1998 Christine set up the WESTAR SCHOOL for Holistic Therapies, approved by ITEC the independent examining board. Having completed her own NVQ D32/33 Assessors Course and D34 Internal verifiers Award she developed her own accredited Diploma Course in Holistic Aromatherapy which is recognised by the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA) the professional umbrella body of Complementary Practitioner. She is also founder and chair to the Practitioner Register for Holistic Therapy (PRHT), a member organisation of the BCMA. Since 2002 she has been elected as an Executive Officer for the BCMA, where she took the task for observing standard and undertaking school inspections.
